A tad better.

Chapter 19, so a tiny bit better this last week. Why do these books still make me cry after the 3rd, possibly 4th go-around with them? So good....

S L O W going.

I'm getting ready to start Chapter 11 in Voyager, so not really getting it done this last week. I may have to make some time in the afternoon to read, instead of just at bedtime.

Menu Monday ~ 9/26

Plan It-Don't Panic.
M/26: sloppy joes/creamy cukes/cherry tomatoes
T/27: pepperoni, sausage, ricotta & mozzarella rolls/salad
W/28: dinner out at our volunteer gig
T/29: pancakes/eggs/sausage
F/30: pizza/salad
S/1: parmesan fish (I use cod)/onion rings/salad/raw veggies
S/2: Not sure yet...need to look at the Meijer ad
New recipe of the week: banana custard from The Fresh 20

This week's menu is carb heavy, which is not my favorite. I need to start working my/our way back to primal/paleo which works best for all of us, health wise.

Last week recap: We had a change of veggies on Monday, from carrots to beans. On Tuesday, nobody ate salad with the lasagna, and we had rolls and butter to boot. This usually happens on a pasta night, must be the Italian in all of us. Mmmmmm....pasta & bread! And on Saturday I didn't end up making the horseradish sauce to go with the roast beef.
The apple cinnamon breakfast cookies were okay. I used almond meal and the recipe called for almond flour. They were pretty dense, but tasty. Next time I'd try the flour, or stick with the meal, but press it flat into a baking dish to make a more granola type bar.

FWF ~ Week 1

This week I was not able to consume or save this salad...it was too far gone. I also noticed an orange that was growing green fur in the fruit bowl this morning. I did trim off the fuzz and throw it in a little pot with some water, cinnamon and nutmeg on the stove. The house smells divine right now, but I think that may be Food Waste Friday cheating. ;)

Books!

I had $112.28 in gift cards to Barnes & Noble that *needed* to be used. I replaced the first three books in my Outlander series with hardcovers. Man do I love those books, and I haven't even read through to the end of the series yet! I also snagged The Tale of Halcyon Crane, and the Sandra Boynton calendar.
My goal is to read all 7 of the books in the Outlander series by the end of this year. I gave myself 6 months to do it, but am not on pace to meet that goal at the moment. I am on Chapter 4 of the third book. School started a few weeks ago, so I'm hoping to pull it off by December 31st though.
